CTET re-exam date released, know when the exam will be held now; Who will get the chance?

Big news has come for the candidates preparing for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CBSE has decided to conduct re-examination of Paper-2 under CTET February 2026 session. This decision has been taken in the interest of those candidates whose examination was canceled due to administrative reasons at some centers in Vaishali district of Bihar. The board says that the path of re-exam has been chosen keeping in mind that injustice should not be done to any candidate.

CBSE had conducted the 21st edition of CTET on 7 and 8 February 2026. It included both Paper-1 and Paper-2. However, on February 7, Paper-2 examination could not be completed at some examination centers in Vaishali district. Due to administrative problems the exam had to be canceled midway. Due to this, hundreds of candidates had to return without taking the exam, due to which there was a lot of disappointment among them.

At which centers the examination could not be conducted

According to the information released by the board, the centers where Paper-2 examination could not be conducted include Lakshya Academy, Bardiha, Patepur, Vaishali (Hajipur) and St. John Academy, Basmati Nagar, Keshopur, Post Office Baluka Ram, Vaishali. The examination arrangements at both these centers could not be completely smooth, hence the decision was taken to cancel the examination.

Re-exam will be held on March 1

Now CBSE has made it clear that the re-examination of CTET Paper-2 will be conducted at these two examination centers on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Only those candidates whose examination centers were earlier at these places will be able to appear in this re-exam. The board has also clarified that this examination will be held only for the affected candidates, there is no need for the remaining candidates to appear for the examination again.

New admit card will be issued

New admit cards will be issued to the candidates appearing in the re-exam. This admit card will be made available in the login of the candidates. All the candidates have been advised to visit the official website ctet.nic.in and download their revised admit card in time. Without the new admit card, entry into the examination center will not be allowed.

Exam date or center will not change

CBSE has clearly said that no changes will be made for the March 1 exam. Neither the exam date nor the exam center will be changed. Any request coming from the candidates will not be accepted. The board also told that this will be the last chance, hence all the candidates must reach the examination center on the scheduled date and time.
