Due to this strong sunlight and continuously increasing temperature every day, the cases of heat stroke are increasing rapidly these days. In such a situation, walking in the sun for a long time or doing heavy physical activity increases the body temperature much more than normal, due to which the risk of heat stroke increases. In such a situation, let us know how to avoid heat stroke during summer.

What is heat stroke?

According to Dr. Rahul Chirag (Consultant Physician, Care Hospitals), heat stroke is a condition in which the body temperature increases due to extreme heat or exposure to extreme heat for a long time. This happens when the body temperature reaches 104°F or more. This problem is seen more in extreme heat. According to doctors, there are two types of heat stroke – exertional and non-exertional. Exertional heat stroke occurs mostly in sportsmen and laborers because they do heavy physical work or exercise in the hot sun, while non-exertional heat stroke is more commonly seen in the elderly and young children because their body’s ability to regulate temperature is weak.
