The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a possible schedule of class 10th and 12th board examinations for 2026. According to the official notice of the board, the examinations will start from February 17, 2026 and will be held by July 15, 2026. During this time, along with the main examinations, special examinations for sports students, second board examination of class 10 and supplementary examination of class 12th will also be conducted.
According to the CBSE’s possible datesheet, the first edition of class 10th board examination will be from 17 February to 6 March 2026. Apart from this, the second board examination of class 10th will be held from 15 May to 1 June. At the same time, the board examinations of class 12th will be from February 17 to April 9, 2026.
According to CBSE, about 45 lakh students in India will appear in these examinations. Examinations will be conducted in 204 subjects of the country as well as in 26 countries abroad. The board also informed that these date letters are temporary and the final version will be released after the schools submit the final list of students.

Evaluation process
CBSE has clarified that after the examinations the evaluation process will be started on time. The evaluation of answer sheets will begin about 10 days after the examination of each subject and it will be completed within 12 days. For example, if the physics examination of class 12th is held on February 20, the evaluation will start from March 3 and will be completed by 15 March.
This step of the board is a big effort for students to ensure timeliness of examination schedule and result. For examinations, students have been advised to prepare on time and take into account all the necessary procedures including practicals.
