Nowadays, mobile cameras are in every hand and making reels has become a daily habit. But when these hobbies start becoming a hindrance in school education, then the government has to take strict steps. Delhi government has now banned making reels and short videos in schools. It has been said in clear words that schools are for education, not for shooting.
A circular in this regard has been issued by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE). In this, all schools have been instructed that students, teachers and employees should not make any kind of reel or short video in the school premises, especially during study time. The government says that such activities affect education, discipline and the dignity of the school.
Why was this circular issued?
Information had reached the Education Department that in some schools, students and sometimes even teachers are making short videos for entertainment. These videos are being posted on social media. This was not only spoiling the study environment but was also distracting the attention of other students. In view of this, the Education Department has decided that now such activities should be strictly banned in schools.
What was said in the circular?
In the circular, clear instructions have been given to the principals of the schools that they should not tolerate any activity which distracts the attention of the students during studies. While studying, complete focus should be on books and class only. It also says that it is important to maintain discipline inside the school. If students or staff are found making reels while studying, the school administration will have to take immediate action.
When can I get permission to make videos?
However, the Education Department has not completely banned the making of videos. If it is necessary to make a video for any educational program, cultural activity or awareness campaign, then permission will have to be taken first. Such videos can be made only under the supervision of teachers. At the same time, it has to be ensured that this does not cause any hindrance in studies and the safety and privacy of the students is maintained.
What will not happen in the school premises?
It has been clearly stated that no reel or video will be made in the school campus which has no connection with studies or school activities. That means making videos just for entertainment or social media is now completely banned.
Everyone will have to give information
Schools have also been instructed to disseminate information about this rule to all students, teachers and staff. Everyone should be told that it is important to follow these instructions.
