Heart Changes After 30: Be careful! As soon as you cross the age of 30, your heart starts getting ‘old’, are you also making these mistakes?

How To Keep Your Heart Healthy After 30: Crossing the age of 30 often seems like a normal milestone, but at this time many small changes begin inside the body, especially in the heart. These changes are not felt immediately, but can have a deep impact on heart health in the future. If these are understood in time, then the risk of heart related diseases in future can be reduced to a great extent.

What do experts say?

Cardiologist Dr Bipin Kumar Dubey told TOI that after 30, the pace of life increases, work pressure increases, responsibilities increase and lifestyle starts changing. In such a situation, changes gradually begin inside the body, which impact the heart as well, even if everything seems normal from outside. Doctors often refer to “heart age,” which tells you how much older your heart is than your actual age. In many people, this age can be higher by 5-8 years, especially if risk factors like blood pressure, diabetes, obesity or smoking are present. This means that the heart is rapidly affected not only by age but also by your lifestyle.

What problems start happening after 30?

After 30, metabolism gradually starts decreasing and the effect of bad habits becomes more visible. Lack of sleep, stress, lack of physical activity and unhealthy eating habits start affecting blood pressure, cholesterol and weight. All these factors together increase the risk of heart diseases. After this age, some structural changes also start taking place in the heart. The heart muscles may become a little stiff, which reduces its ability to work. Along with this, slight swelling starts increasing in the body, which can gradually cause changes in the arteries. These changes can later become the cause of problems like high blood pressure and blockage.

What are its symptoms?

The biggest problem is that these changes often occur without any symptoms. Conditions like high blood pressure, bad cholesterol or pre-diabetes keep harming the body silently for a long time and by the time it is detected, the problem has become serious. However, the good thing is that the age of 30 is also the best time to keep the heart healthy. Walking for at least 30 minutes daily, balanced diet, adequate sleep and controlling stress can maintain better heart health. Along with this, it is also important to pay attention to some important tests, like getting regular blood pressure checked, cholesterol and blood sugar checked.
