A great opportunity has come for the youth of Madhya Pradesh to get a government job. For the candidates who have been preparing for competitive examinations for a long time, Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (MPESB) has issued official notification for recruitment to a total of 1679 posts in Forest Department and Jail Department. Through this recruitment, there will be an opportunity to get a uniformed government job in different districts of the state. This is a golden opportunity for the youth who want to serve in the Forest Department or Jail Department. Under this recruitment drive, important posts like Jail Guard, Forest Guard, Field Guard and Assistant Jail Superintendent will be filled. The good thing is that for many of these posts only 10th pass qualification has been sought, due to which even less educated candidates can apply.
On which posts will there be recruitment?
A total of 1679 posts will be filled through this recruitment, which includes 757 posts of Jail Guard, 728 posts of Forest Guard, 169 posts of Field Guard and 25 posts of Assistant Jail Superintendent. All these posts will be in different districts of Madhya Pradesh. Selected candidates will be appointed in the respective departments.
Important date of application
The online application process has started from 28 February 2026. Interested candidates can apply till 14 March 2026. If any mistake is made while filling the application form, it can be corrected till March 19, 2026. The written examination will be conducted from 7 April 2026. Candidates are advised not to wait for the last date and complete the application in time.
Selection Process and Application Fee
Candidates will be selected in this recruitment through several stages, in which first there will be Computer Based Written Test (CBT), after which successful candidates will have to go through Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). After clearing these stages, document verification and medical examination will be conducted, and the final merit list of the candidates successful in all the processes will be released. The application fee has been fixed at Rs 500 per question paper for general category, while for SC, ST, OBC and disabled candidates, Rs 250 per question paper will have to be paid. Apart from this, the portal fee is Rs 60 through kiosk and Rs 20 through citizen user.
What will be the salary for the post?
Talking about the pay scale, the salary for Forest Guard, Jail Guard and Field Guard posts will be Rs 19,500 to 62,000 (Level-4), while Assistant Jail Superintendent will be given a monthly salary of Rs 36,200 to Rs 1,14,800, along with the benefit of other government allowances.
