UPSC Civil Services Examination is counted among the toughest examinations in the country. To pass this examination, candidates work hard day and night for years. Its attraction is so deep that people choose this path even after leaving their jobs with salaries worth lakhs. But there are some stories which become examples not only of success but also of courage, struggle and self-confidence. Similar is the story of IAS Anjali Garg.
Anjali Garg was born on 14 September 1996 in Chandigarh. Since childhood, his dream was to become a doctor. She was bright in studies right from the beginning and gave every exam with full dedication. Even during his school days, he had proved that hard work and discipline were part of his nature.
Anjali secured 96 percent marks in class 12th. This success further strengthened his confidence. After this he started preparing completely for NEET exam. Hard work paid off and he passed the NEET exam.
MBBS and changing perspective
After passing NEET, Anjali got the opportunity to do MBBS in Delhi’s prestigious VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital. This was a big turning point in his life. The initial years of medical college were spent in studies and practicals, but in the third year, when he saw the condition of patients at the ground level, the challenges of government hospitals and the limitations of the system, many questions started arising in his mind. From here Anjali’s perspective started changing. He realized that it is not enough to just become a doctor and provide treatment, but it is also necessary to bring changes in the system. This thinking took him towards UPSC.
friendship with books after duty
Anjali started preparing for UPSC during MBBS. This journey was not easy at all. On one hand, medical internship, on the other hand, preparation for civil services. 12-hour night duty in the hospital, fatigue, lack of sleep and still sitting with books, all this was no less than an ordeal.
Many times it happened when the body did not cooperate, but the mind was not ready to accept defeat. Anjali would take care of patients during the day and prepare for her dreams at night. He used his time very well and spent every free moment in studies.
First attempt and disappointment
While preparing for UPSC, Anjali gave her first attempt, but she could not succeed. This moment was very difficult for him. Failure after so much hard work can break anyone. But instead of accepting defeat, Anjali strengthened herself further.
Big success in second attempt
In the second attempt, Anjali Garg achieved what she had dreamed of. She secured 79th rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 and became an IAS officer. The special thing was that she was also the medical science topper of her batch.
