UPSC has released the official schedule of IES and ISS examinations. Now candidates can give the right direction to their preparation, because the date, time and type of examination of each paper has been clearly explained. This timetable is available on the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in, from where it can also be downloaded in PDF.
The third week of June 2026 is going to be very important for these candidates. There will be examinations for different subjects for three days. There will be papers in the morning and afternoon sessions, some of which will be objective and some descriptive. Candidates have been advised to read the timetable carefully and plan their studies accordingly.
19 June 2026: First day, two big papers
On the first day i.e. Friday, June 19, there will be a descriptive paper of General English from 9 am to 12 noon. Descriptive paper of General Studies will be conducted on the same day from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. On the same day, the paper of General Economics-I has also been scheduled in the morning session.
20 June 2026: Focus on Statistics and Economics
There will be objective paper of Statistics-I on Saturday, June 20 from 9 to 11 am. Descriptive paper of General Economics-II will be held from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. On the same day, the objective paper of Statistics-II will be held in the afternoon session, while the paper of General Economics-III has been held in the morning session.

21 June 2026: Last day, important topic
There will be a descriptive paper of Statistics-III on Sunday, June 21 from 9 am to 12 noon. There will be papers of Indian Economics and Statistics-Quadrant from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. This day is considered special for ISS candidates.
What is IES exam?
IES i.e. Indian Engineering Services is for those engineering graduates who want to become officers in the technical departments of the Government of India. This examination is also conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
What is ISS exam?
ISS i.e. Indian Statistical Services is for those students whose studies have been in Statistics, Mathematics or Economics. Through this examination, candidates are appointed to important posts related to data, survey and statistics in government departments.
