Description

Grimace Night drops you into this quirky, shadowy place where a purple character (the little Grimace) is determined to snag every last key. There’s a nice mix of platforming and puzzle-solving. Sometimes the way forward is obvious; other times, well, not so much—especially when those odd blocks come into play. You have to use them cleverly, stacking or jumping at just the right moment to actually reach the hard-to-get keys. Nothing’s handed to you for free. There are some classic Halloween vibes throughout—the abandoned setting and all—but honestly, it doesn’t try too hard in that area. It sort of works in the background rather than being front and center. The controls are pretty simple (arrow keys mostly), which means younger players could probably jump in without much fuss. But it does get trickier with each level, so don’t let the kid-friendly look fool you. It’s interesting how sometimes you find yourself overthinking simple parts, then breezing through what looks difficult at first glance. Pacing isn’t rushed—you get time to plan moves if you want—but there’s still enough challenge that older puzzle fans won’t be bored. Casual players could have fun here but might hit their limit as things ramp up. You know, these kinds of games stick with you more than expected sometimes.

At first I thought Grimace Night would just be another light platformer for kids—I mean, it really does look like one with its chunky shapes and basic art style. But after playing a few levels… actually, I started enjoying the cleverness behind using blocks to reach keys and manipulate my path. Some stages had me stuck longer than I’d like to admit (that part really matters if you’re impatient). I’ll say there were moments I wished for a bit more variety in scenery or music; feels repetitive after a while. But it never got frustrating—and honestly? The satisfaction from finally getting an awkwardly-placed key was worth it. Not perfect by any means, but more satisfying than expected.
