Noob Click: Adventure Upgrades Await

Noob Click: The Rise of Noob takes a simple idea—clicking—and layers it with that oddly addictive sense of progress you don’t realize you want until you’re in the middle of it. You help Nubik (he’s a blocky little guy that’s got real Minecraft energy) fend off all sorts of mobs trying to take his emeralds. Simple enough at first—you just tap or click to attack—but very quickly you realize upgrades matter a lot more than you’d think. You can change up Nubik’s weapons and armor—some are honestly a little goofy—and every upgrade shifts how he looks, which actually makes grinding out enough resources feel less like a chore. There are only three main levels but they come with their own quirks, different enemies, pacing that gets noticeably tougher each time. Well, there’s not really any downtime; as soon as one wave ends the next starts almost immediately. Sometimes I wondered who exactly this is for. Fans of clicker games? Minecraft fans? Probably younger players especially but even grownups might get sucked in for fifteen minutes longer than they meant to. It doesn’t drag on forever. You reach the final boss pretty quick if you push through—but it won’t let you just breeze past either.

Tried Noob Click mostly because I was curious what happens when clickers meet that Minecraft style vibe. At first I just tapped away half-heartedly—the mobs start out slow and sort of clumsy—but once the upgrades appeared it became hard not to care about tricking out Nubik’s armor or sword just so he’d look cooler for the next level. It ramps up fast though; some enemy waves almost felt cheap because they didn’t give me time to react after upgrading—I guess that adds challenge but sometimes I wanted a breather. One thing I liked: no complicated menus. Just clicking, upgrading, repeat. To be honest, not something I’d play all night, but it scratches an odd itch for bite-sized progression.
